Four members of the MTSN team will collaborate to present at a school summit on Trauma Informed Care hosted by Mid Prairie school district on June 24th in Kalona, Iowa. Christy Anana, Matt Vasquez, Chris Gandin Le and Frank Grijalva along with KINNECT specialist Matt Freel, combine backgrounds and expertise to form a dynamic team. They will present a day of training across important aspects of school life through the trauma lens. Christy Anana the 2017 Washington state school counselor of the year, will focus on milieu and tools for elementary school counselors. Dr Matt Vasquez will look at the clinical and neurobiological ramifications of trauma exposure. Chris Gandin Le who was instrumental in the design of the Suicide hotlines for Google and Facebook, will focus on technology and trauma. Frank Grijalva, Director of MTSN and Trauma Informed Care expert, will focus on behavioral shaping through the lens of developmental trauma and practical formulas for behavior change in school settings. Matt Freel will do a morning review of the ACE study and its implications for schools and an afternoon demonstration session of activities designed to improve affiliation and affect management.
